General synod election results

Together for the Church of England thanks all those who stood for election to General Synod, and all those deanery synod members who read the election statements and voted.

We are delighted that 160 candidates who were open and transparent about their commitment to inclusion were elected, an increase of 22% on the 131 elected by the equivalent campaign in 2021. This is a significant achievement by all concerned, and Trustees especially wish to thank our small and hardworking staff team, those who donated to the campaign and the volunteers who supported our candidates. We pay tribute to the work of Inclusive Church as our partners in this campaign, engaging hundreds of churches in their network and beyond. We share in the disappointment of those gifted and committed people who were not chosen by the electorate.

We are now working to help newly elected members settle into their new role, in which they will serve for the next five years.  The Together on General Synod group (TOGS) is ready to work with all on General Synod for a more inclusive, diverse and compassionate church which reflects the love of God for every one of us and responds faithfully to the needs of the whole of the Church of England.
